“Above the Line”
IT functions can be divided into two categories: those that we consider “Above the Line” are the functional/operational aspects of IT that are directly tied to your business goals and objectives, such as service delivery and executive reporting. We use the term “IT Service Management” to describe those functions that are “Above the Line.”
“Below the Line”
Those that are “Below the Line” are designed to support the overall IT environment from a technical standpoint, such as network, application and database management.
